Keep Curious and Carry On

Some individuals who visit my office say they want help so they can be less worried, or sad.  Some others don't like the felt sense of anxiety they are experiencing or have become tired of being treated poorly by someone.  Still others may have found that their behaviors bother others, or impact their experience of the world in a difficult way.  A journey begins toward learning to observe self, care for self, and advocate for self.  Many individuals learn this in varying degrees at different points of life.  Sometimes the approach is very effective, and in other situations a flawed solution to meeting needs developed over time.  I often begin with my clients, advocating for curiosity and inviting them to try new approaches in their quests and - be it old and well trodden, or a new adventure - to become a curious observer of self.
